Beijing Nightlife

Nights are usually not the time to sleep for most tourists especially when you're in Beijing, a place where nights have just recently started blooming.

Hotels in Beijing offer a lot of venues for evening recreational and self-pampering services, to include bars, party by the pools, massage and sauna, billiard tables, karaoke and sight-seeing from the rooftop for the conservatives. But, if you are the party-goer type, it might be a good idea to go out of the hotel and try Sanlitun, a whole line of bars and restaurants along the streets. This part of Beijing started its fame when more and more tourists started visiting it. Now, it is known to be the mini melting pot in Beijing where different cultures and nationalities meet and have fun together. One of the favorite bars in Sanlitun is Club Havana, where bands that play good, soulful and Cuban music are featured including a known Filipino band that plays Latin music.

Most tourists also visit Beijing for a taste of the place's renowned and rich culture. After meeting friends in Sanlitun, you can then head to Tiananmen Square, where a show is scheduled daily featuring Beijing folk dances and plays where you can immediately get lost in the drama of the show and the music, that are truly Chinese.

For the poet and emotional, check out Houhai Lake in Beijing. Houhai is a place where bars and restaurants line along the shores of the lake. Along the walkline, one can see the marvelous reflections of light bounced on the lake. Lovers will love to have a sip of martini or local beers while watching the lake and listening to acoustic music.

Now, another interesting site to see during nights in Beijing is the night markets at Wangfujing Street. People start to fill-up the streets at 6 in the evening until 9 or 10PM. Buy cheap products of all variations and kinds - bags, cell phones, mp3s, clothes, accessories, name it. While you're there, you might as well not miss trying out street foods in Beijing, like barbecued pork or lamb and other pick-a-foods then brag all about having tasted them after.

Dance your hearts out with the tune of hard and hot salsa at Beijing Latino, located at Chaoyan Park and more bars in Beijing. Now a tip: don't wear rubber shoes or slippers when going to Latino or you won't feel the beat of it. Check out other venues when you get there!
